We are in the month of September, a time dedicated to suicide prevention. As parents, we all have the responsibility to remain attentive to what is happening around us. Today, I want to invite you to be part of change and suicide prevention.

As Director of The Cora Foundation, I urge you to stay alert to the signs of bullying in your home. We have received numerous cases in which the only person who could save a child’s life was their parent. Suicide is a silent enemy—often invisible, yet deeply felt. According to the latest statistics published by NGOs, the United States ranks third with 260,000 suicide cases related to bullying. Among the most recent cases are Sammy Teusch, only 10 years old, who took his life on May 5 due to physical bullying, and Flora Martinez, 12 years old, who died by suicide on May 7 as a result of cyberbullying. I want you to know that our foundation is here to support you.

Suicide is closely linked to bullying, especially to silent emotional abuse. Many times, suicide becomes an unexpected way out for young people and children who feel trapped. I encourage you to educate yourself, because knowledge is our most powerful tool.

At our foundation, through the C.O.A. method (Know, Observe, and Act), we help empower you with valuable tools so you can understand bullying from a comprehensive perspective. Through our free workshops, podcasts, and our website, you will find essential information to help parents understand and confront the school-related terror to which children, adolescents, and families in this country are exposed.

Together, we can raise awareness to prevent and eradicate bullying.

Say #NOMOREBULLYING.
